## Factors and multiple:

If a number divides another number is exactly then the number which divides them is called a factor of the number and the number that has been divided is known as the multiple of that number

Example 2 and 5 are factors of 10 and 10 is the multiple of 2 and 5

## Least Common Multiple (LCM) Definition

LCM of two or more given number is the least number which is exactly divisible by each of them.

### LCM of rational fraction:

LCM of fractions = (LCM of numerators)/(HCF of denominators)

## Methods to find Least Common Multiple (LCM):

There are two methods from that we can find LCM

1. Prime factorization method

2. Division method

### 1. Prime factorization method

Follow the below steps to find the LCM of numbers using prime factorization method

Step 1: In this method first we have to find prime factors of given numbers

Step 2: Then the product of the highest power of prime factor is LCM.

### 2. Division method:

To Find LCM of three or more than three numbers then this method must be used..

Step 1: In this method first we have to write down the given numbers in a row separating them by commas.

Step 2: Divide them by prime number and quotients and undivided numbers are written in a line below the first line.

Step 3: Repeat these steps 1 and step 2 on hand to process until you get a line of numbers which are prime and 1.

Step 4:   the product of all divisors and reminders are ours required LCM
