Cuomo announced last week that underground roads would be closed from 1am to 5am for trains and stations to be infected. The change is aimed at making it easier to get homeless people off trains where many sleep overnight.
The two closures were reduced to 2 to 4 pm in February.
BOSTON – Massachusetts plans to close its seven mass vaccination centers by the end of June with the aim of identifying more than 30% of eligible government officials who have not received at least one coronavirus vaccine, Government Charlie Baker said on Monday.
The state will instead send additional doses to 22 smaller districts in the region, increase mobile phone vaccination efforts, and provide vaccination clinics at higher institutions, YMCAs, houses of worship and other public places, the governor of the Republic said.
While there are doubts among uninvited people, usually that is not the case, it is a simple matter, says Baker, and he wants to make it as easy as possible to get a gun. The state could change its focus because it aims to achieve its goal of getting more than 4 million people to be vaccinated by the end of May.
GENEVA – Top scientists at the World Health Organization are showing signs that the COVID-19 vaccine is reducing transmission, and that vaccination of about half of the world’s population is followed by a “significant reduction” in conditions.
Dr Soumya Swaminathan, WHO’s chief scientist, said such evidence of funding came from colleagues who complained that countries did not have the next vaccine – and were facing increased hospital admissions.
The WHO has repeatedly expressed concern about inequality in access to vaccines – in many rich countries they can afford it, and many poorer countries receive fewer or more doses.
Maria Van Kerkhove, head of technology at COVID-19 at the WHO, also pointed to some “signs that the vaccine is delaying transmission” – although studies on the subject have not yet been completed.
